There are no regulations that would dictate how you spend the indirect cost (F&A) revenue your university earns. Every institution has different methods for how they allocate the revenue internally, so whatever you decide is a university preference. Sincerely, Jason Guilbeault, CRA Director, Post Award Services Sponsored Program Administration Augusta University (formerly Georgia Regents University) 1120 15th St. CJ-3301 Augusta, GA 30912 706-721-0007 xxxxxx@augusta.edu Georgia Regents University is now Augusta University. Please update your address book accordingly. -----Original Message----- From: Research Administration List [mailto:xxxxxx@lists.healthresearch.org] On Behalf Of Angela Carron Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2017 12:32 PM To: xxxxxx@lists.healthresearch.org Subject: [EXTERNAL] [RESADM-L] Indirect cost recovery - restrictions on use This is an external email. Use caution responding, opening attachments and following links. Hello, Are there any restrictions on the use of indirect costs earned through federal grants? For example, we set aside 25% of the indirect costs recovered for PIs and 50% for the school to use for further research efforts. If some of the indirect costs recovered were used to hire a person to apply for grants, would that be allowable?
