We are looking forward to being a member of GRC in August. We looked at all our options and this is our first choice!

GRC is open to public and private baccalaureate and graduate institutions, including AASCU, APLU, NAICU, and CIC members. Our parent organization, AASCU, is limited to state colleges and universities.

Beyond GrantSearch, GRC provides a team of staff liaisons and a tremendously engaged member-leader group, an online resource library (policies, news, funded proposal examples, etc.), Washington and web-based conferences, agency advocacy, and negotiated discounts with complementary service providers such as Cayuse and In4Grants. Overview information is here http://www.aascu.org/grcinfo.

Happy to provide detailed information offlist.

Larry,
I agree with Mike. Grants Resource Center has the best database -- especially when you consider their other services. I've used COS, SPIN, and IRIS, too and of those three, I found IRIS to be most useful. But you just can't beat GRC.

Before you do any of these, check out the services of the Grants Resource Center at AASCU. Talk to Rich Dunfee, their director. I used these guys a lot. Their database is kept more up to date and their other services are outstanding-- I've used the other products you mentioned and i think GRC is better.

As many of you know, the Community of Science (COS) grant opportunities search tool, which we currently use, is transitioning to Pivot. With that transition would come a quadrupling of our annual fee to about $7,000. As you might expect, despite a stated huge increase in functionality, we are not able to justify the cost.

We also know that IRIS is moving to Cazoodle (great name) GrantForward . And then there is SPIN.

So, do any of you out in grantland have any suggestions, observations, likes and dislikes, advice, new plans of action….....

Larry
