Amy, when you save your sheet, just choose "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" or
"Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook" from the dropdown menu that says "Save as
type." The sheet uploads to FastLane for me when I do this.

I asked about this a while ago and was told by FastLane Helpdesk that the
spreadsheet can't be used with Office 2007, and they didn't have a plan in
place to update it. The IT gurus at my institution at the time figured out
how to allow the NSF spreadsheet to open and save in Excel 2003 so we could
continue to use it, but I have no idea how they managed it. I'm at another
institution now, and I haven't been able to get the spreadsheet to work, or
find someone in IT who can create the workaround for me.

Frustrating.

Yes, I have experienced this problem also. I've not been able to figure out
how to get around it.

We are having a similar problem using the NSF template in Excel 2007, and
are not able to use the macros (add'l personnel, add'l year, etc.). We have
macro function turned on as well as the VBA indicator under Excel security.

Have others run into this?
