The Arkansas Children's Hospital Research Institute has an opening for a
Contracts Officer in their Office of Clinical Trials.  This position will be
included in the research administration area, the ACHRI Research Support
Center, and will report to the Director of Research Support.

The position will direct, develop and ensure efficient operation of the
clinical trial process on the Arkansas Children's Hospital campus via the
Office of Clinical Trials (OCT).  The Contracts Officer will develop the
clinical trial negotiation and preparation services offered by the ACHRI
Research Support Center, striving to meet and exceed the requirements and
expectations of the research community.  He/she will work closely with the
investigators in reviewing the protocols, developing the study budget,
finalizing the contract, and establishing the study account within the ACHRI
system.  He/she will be responsible for all contract negotiations with
industry sponsors, ensuring that each protocol and contract is in compliance
with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as all ACHRI
policies; and also ensuring that the best interests of both the ACHRI and
the investigator are met.    The Contracts Officer will develop rapport with
key personnel both on and off campus to promote the image of the ACHRI, the
ACH, and the Department of Pediatrics, and to represent their position.
Additionally, he/she will ensure that the OCT and the ACHRI operate in
accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, standards,
and/or guidelines.

Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree in Business
Administration or relate field or in a scientific field.  Training in
business and/or contract law is a plus.  Additionally, experience in the
research administration area, especially related to industry sponsored
clinical research, is preferred.
