For those of you who operate IRBs, IACUCs and IBCs--If your committees
operate like ours, at least one committee member receives a copy of the
complete proposal before the meeting.  Do you remove the
budget--especially salary info?

 Our committees do not receive copies of the budgets.  The application/registration forms for the committees do request information on payment to subjects as well as medical costs that are being covered by the study.  I know some IRBs also ask about any incentives being offered to PIs for enrolling patients.  We don't deal with this issue since our administration caps (I'm not sure of the amount but it is minimal) the accession fee rate.  These funds must then be used by investigators for educational or research related purposes, and require approval by our Director of Research.
