Below are the results received from my inquiry regarding which states had
established a State Match Pool to providing provide a source of matching
funds for proposals. I also included some who have come up with variations
from the traditional state match pool program. Thanks to all who responded.
Ohio - Ohio Board of Regents has matching program(s). Their Action Fund
provides matching for university research proposals that include capital
equipment or facilities. Their web site is
http://www.regents.state.oh.us/rsch/rschsupport.html
Illinois - The State of Illinois has recently established a state matching
grant program.
Nevada - Started State Match Pool program in FY98.
Oklahoma - Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education has a matching pool
from which universities can seek reimbursement.
California - The California department of Trade & Commerce, Office of
Stragetic Technology, has a program called the California Technology
Investment Partnership. Website is at http://goldstrike.net/
Georgia - Georgia Research Alliance Website http://www.gra.org/
Other universities in states including Missouri, New York, South Carolina,
and Louisana while not having a specific match pool program, have been
successful in obtaining special appropriations or funding from the state
for matching for specific projects such as NSF's EPSCOR, AMP and STC.
