Has anyone heard and/or used the Dept. of Energy's Research
Information Management System (RIMS)?  Apparently this system is
being used by the Biological and Environmental Research branch
(formerly Health and Environmental Research) of the Office of Energy
Research.

According to some correspondance we recieved from DOE, the RIMS
system is to be used to check abstracts and update project
information for next year's funding on current awards.  It appears
there is no mechanism within RIMS to allow Sponsored Programs
involvement in the electronic processing of grants (e.g., final
reports, progress reports required for subsequent year's funding).

We are just wondering what other universities are doing with this
application.
