Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal review and negotiating agreements involving intellectual property and research at the medical center and university; ensuring agreements comply with the university policies and procedures, and all laws and regulations; monitoring progression of negotiations to ensure timely completion; seeking creative solutions to obstacles encountered in negotiations to meet both parties’ needs; keeping faculty apprised of negotiation process; plus completing all related job duties as assigned. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's and Law Degree with a minimum of two years of experience in negotiating agreements involving research and intellectual property plus have the ability to work effectively with senior management, academic scientists and industry executives. Five years' experience negotiating agreements involving research and intellectual property in a university setting preferred.
