Job Posting: Senior Grant Specialist
The Boston Medical Center Central Grants Administration Office is
looking for a highly motivated individual to provide support and
guidance to Principal Investigators applying for research funding
through a variety of federal agencies and non-federal organizations.
Duties include: Identifying and summarizing grant opportunities and
researching program guidelines for investigators; serving as primary
contact for Principal Investigators regarding grant and contract
applications; providing analytical, writing, and financial support in
proposal processing and budget development; guaranteeing that grant
and contract applications, progress reports and renewals are complete
prior to submission; ensuring that applications are compliant with BMC
and sponsor requirements and regulations; and working on special
projects as assigned by Director.
Other job responsibilities include:
*Providing post-application materials to sponsors, including revised
budgets and just-in-time documents
*Overseeing accurate data entry of proposal information into InfoEd
* Working with compliance offices to keep research compliance
documents (IRB, FCOI, IACUC, etc) current
* Providing training to the BMC Research Community to ensure mutual
understanding of grant and contract requirements and policies and
procedures.
Knowledge and Skills Required: This position requires an individual
with strong analytical and critical thinking, problem solving and
people skills. The successful candidate must be a dedicated team
player who shares information and resolves issues jointly with
co-managers and research administrators on a daily basis. Knowledge
of the federal web-based electronic proposal submission systems an
asset to this position. Applicants must also have the ability to:
* Learn and utilize various computer software packages, including
Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc., and electronic grant management
systems.
* Supervise, train, and evaluate the work performance of others
* Work efficiently and accurately in a fast pace, high volume,
dead-line driven environment
* Communicate clearly and succinctly through various oral and written methods
* Resolve complex issues often involving a series of meetings with
various levels of faculty, staff, and administrators
