Our Office of Sponsored Research Administration had two sections--administration and accounting. The administration section handles proposals and signs awards, and registers as the university as a vendor before we send the file to accounting for project and billing setup. We handle it on the administration side because the sponsor often requires registration before an award can be issue. If necessary, we consult with the accounting office and controller's office if we do not have the information we need to register. Diana Diana L.
