I agree, you could try to submit the previous version with changes, but
you would need to verify first that it is the latest version of that
form set. I would also make sure the actual submission happened well
enough in advance of the deadline that you could re-create the
application in a new module if something went wrong.

This can result in failure of submission! You have to use a current
application, it is possible that the parent application hasn't changed
but
it must be a current application package.
