Check out the American Chemical Society. They have a summer program called Project SEED. You will have to identify a chemistry faculty member to serve as their mentor. The students can have summer experiences for up to two years as a SEED 1 and SEED 2 student. I have a Chemistry faculty member that has done this for several years and the students have opportunities to present their research at various meetings. Also, if you are close to a Department of Energy Lab like Oak Ridge, they will usually have some summer programs.
