Good afternoon everyone,
The new biosketch format is the new biosketch format, period--for every
biosketch submitted with an NIH proposal after 24 january 2010. The
personal statement needs to tell reviewers why this person is well
qualified for his or her role on the project under consideration. I
don't see anything in the notice that leaves any doubt. And I quote:

"Briefly describe why your experience and qualifications make you
particularly well-suited for your role (e.g., PD/PI, mentor) in the
project that is the subject of the application."

My fear is that this requirement will generate a lot of verbose and
grandiose prose. Fortunately the biosketch still has a page limit, and
now a suggested limit on citations.

Is there any question (perhaps the better word is "fear") that the new
NIH biosketch format (requiring a project-specific personal
statement) will apply to ALL key personnel on a proposal?
