Same for UNC Pembroke. Our denial letter came in 05/28/25, and informed that “The program that supported this award was terminated because it no longer aligned with NIH/HHS priorities. Consequently, awards made through this program can no longer be supported and the request for reinstatement cannot be granted. NIH encourages the awardee to submit a new application that aligns with NIH’s priorities under one of NIH’s active NOFOs.”

On a separate note, is anyone appealing NEH terminations? The Chronicle tracking is showing a class action lawsuit for all grantees that have been terminated in April, which happened to one of our projects.

The summary of progress is the financial accounting of cost due within 30 days of termination, including an estimate to cover the closeout costs required to submit the final/annual report within 120 days. Project Outcomes Reports are waived for terminated awards.
