We have received an email to that effect (2/1-1/31 cycle in our case) without having received a revised NOGA terminating the project period early. In Commons, the theoretically terminated year is still listed as pending.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Seen any backdated termination notices?

USE CAUTION: External Message.

Has anyone received a termination notice from NIH for a non-competing continuation that included a termination date as of the previous budget period end date? For example, the project period ends 2/28/28, but the awarded budget period ended 2/28/25 and the NCC NOA was not issued. A termination notice was received 4/1/25 and noted a termination effective 3/1/25? FYI - I have not seen this and am assuming a termination could not be backdated, but curious about the financial risk of leaning into carryover funds while awaiting a new NOA (or a termination notice).

Thanks!
Jill B.
