If the documents are prepared in relation to federal sponsors & there is effort committed, then yes all of these would need to be included.

Subject: [RESADM-L] Feedback requested: OS/internal funding competitions

Hello kind colleagues! I have been asked to solicit feedback on how other institutions handle the following scenarios in federal other support documents.

  *   When an institution receives a gift to be used for a general purpose, and then issues competitive awards, internally, from those gift funds, are those competitive awards reportable as other support?
  *   Are competitive awards made from an endowment where no reporting is done to the original donor, and awarded internally, reportable as other support?
  *   Are competitive, internally funded postdoc fellowships reportable as other support, either/both to the fellow and/or as in-kind support to the supervising PI?

Finally, do any of your institutions permit your development department to submit and manage competitive grant programs from extramural sponsors, e.g., Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Dana Foundation, Lustgarten Foundation, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, etc.?
