Apply here: https://ulsltu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/LATECHCareers/job/Ruston-La/Director-of-the-Office-of-Sponsored-Projects_R-395 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Provide leadership to all aspects of the OSP in the areas of Pre-Award, Post-Award, and Award Closeout, compliance, training, and accounts management. • Provide leadership to the multi-functional OSP team. • Implement processes and provide effective support to the EAVPRP to advance the University's research and strategic partnership goals, manage sponsored projects efficiently and accurately, and furnish data and summaries to grow the research and partnerships portfolio at LA Tech. • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, partners, and faculty to negotiate contract terms; review contracts for extramural funding; coordinate input from the University's legal counsel, intellectual property office, and other stakeholders. • Administer all sub-awards and amendments to partner institutions and agencies, and oversee sub-recipient monitoring. • Monitor grants ending and proactively address account balances and reporting requirements as applicable. • Provide oversight for efficient and accurate invoicing and financial reporting. • Actively engage with campus community members to remain aware of interests, expertise, and funding needs; communicate funding opportunities and offer professional development to appropriate audiences. • Implement strategies for contract management through LA Tech and LTARC. Ensure that the certified accounting systems comply with the federal and state standards and effectively meet the sponsors' and project personnel's needs. • Serve as the OSP liaison for internal and external audits, including the Louisiana Legislative Auditors, compliance audits, and other federal and non-federal auditors. • Complete annual reporting requirements, including but not limited to the Schedule of Expenditures on Federal Awards (SEFA) and the NSF Herd Survey. Provide periodic reports to the EAVPRP on sponsored projects metrics. • Assist with the Workday ERP processes and procedures for the grants functional area. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and skills: Minimum qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field. • Four or more years of experience related to sponsored projects, contracts, cooperative agreements, and grants administration or related relevant experience with a proven track record of success. • Broad working knowledge of federal grant funding policies, submissions, and award management. • Interpersonal effectiveness in working cooperatively with others to stimulate grant/contract submission. Address issues effectively and assuring that all rules, guidelines and required processes are met. • Attention to detail with an ability to ensure all grant/contract requirements are met. • Leadership skills to lead a multifunctional team. • Strong financial, audit, interpersonal and computer skills. • Excellent time management skills. Customer-focused, adaptable, and willing to work on varying assignments. Preferred qualifications • Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field. • Two or more years of higher education research management experience. • Experience in compliance management and a broad understanding of regulations relating to grants. Knowledge of federal regulations and agency guidelines for grants management and sponsored research, including NSF, U-DOE, NIH, NEA, and NEH. Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. • Knowledge of and experience with Grants.gov, NSF FastLane/Research.gov, ERA Commons/ASSIST, and other online proposal submission and reporting systems.
