Re: Sponsored Programs - PUIs MDaniel@xxxxxx 13 Oct 1999 08:45 EST

Mary and others,

I once heard a nice idea at a conference for publicizing the services of the
sponsored programs office to faculty, and I thought it was cute:
Obtain some shredded money from the U.S. mint, package small amounts in
a
"baggie" with an attached note: Free money! Some assembly required.
Instructions
available in the Sponsored Programs Office (followed by other information
which
might be appropriate for your faculty members' interests).
Yes, this is just an attention-getter, but before you can lead the mule
out
of the stream, you must get his attention.

Dear RESADMers,
I am the Director in a small Sponsored Programs office at a Predominately
Undergraduate Institution (PUI). I am interested in finding out what
others at PUIs do to get faculty and staff to "come into the sponsored
programs
office" to use the services offered. I would greatly appreciate any
suggestions,
ideas, successful events, etc. that you have tried at your institution to
encourage the faculty to use your office. Please respond to the list or
contact
me
directly. If you are not from a PUI but have ideas you would be willing to
share,
please do!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
