Faculty Salary Augmentation

I am interested in hearing from the group on a variation of a well-worn
issue: faculty incentives relative to research productivity and grant
procurement. Specifically, are highly productive faculty (subject to
definition) at your institutions rewarded on an individual basis through
salary augmentation either by direct distribution (i.e. bonus) or
performance-based salary adjustment? Notwithstanding overarching A-21
regulations on this matter, are you aware of any innovative policy/program
being practiced relative to this issue at your institution.
