IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Contracts and Grants Officer Iowa State University is seeking candidates for the position of Contracts and Grants Officer. This person is responsible for monitoring approximately $200 million annually of sponsored programs which involves management of the Sponsored Programs Office (funding information); review and signing of all proposals; negotiation of contracts, grants and other contractual agreements with outside agencies; and acting as institutional signatory. This person is also responsible for supervision of award expenditures during the period of the grant and for closing out and ensuring that final fiscal, technical, and other reports are made to the granting agency as part of the overall close-out procedures. The Contracts and Grants Officer manages a staff of seven full-time employees and several graduate assistants. For more information, see http://grants-svr.admin.iastate.edu/. The university is a Carnegie Foundation Research I institution and has a national reputation for developing innovative technologies. The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree and at least five years experience in contracts and grants administration and/or sponsored programs administration or a closely related area. Preferred qualifications include additional experience and an advanced degree such as an MBA, MS or Ph.D. in a relevant field. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
