DePaul University's Office of Sponsored Programs and Research announces an opening for a Grant Information Coordinator to serve over 600 faculty and administrators on two main campuses in Chicago, Illinois.  Grant activity at DePaul has grown rapidly in the last 5 years to approximately $20 million annually in new grants.  DePaul, the largest Catholic university in the U.S., has eight schools and colleges, with four doctoral programs.

We are seeking a person with a master's or equivalent professional degree, with some research experience and familiarity with an academic environment. The Grant Information Coordinator will be responsible for informing potential applicants of grant opportunities and assisting with grant applications as part of the six-person OSPR team.  Other responsibilities include identifying funding sources, obtaining and organizing up-to-date information about public and private funding programs, and monitoring government publications and agency-specific publications and websites for grant-related information, notices, regulations and policies.

The Coordinator also is responsible for performing individual funding searches on request for faculty and administrators, serving as OSPR liaison for electronic proposal development and submission, assisting with office publications and performing background research for large-scale institutional and other proposals.

The ideal candidate must be able to deal with people under stress in a polite manner and must be able to function independently with good judgment, but in a team environment.  Knowledge of effective grant writing and experience in the use of the Internet for obtaining and disseminating grant-related information is desirable.  Excellent writing and communication skills are required and the selected candidate must be highly organized and be detail-oriented.
