PROGRAMMING PROJECT MANAGER
The Stony Brook Office of Research Informatics and Compliance in the Office of
the Vice President for Research seeks qualified candidates for the position of
Programming Project Manager. Employment will be with the Research
Foundation of SUNY.
Qualifications: Required: BS in a field requiring significant application
development and evaluation, specific knowledge working with data standards,
five (5) years experience with application development (at least one year of
which has been devoted to workflow applications). Three (3) years experience
if the candidate possesses a Masters Degree. Preferred: MS degree, experience
within an academic or research administration environment, mainframe and MAC
exposure, experience in producing reports using data warehouses and modern
query tools. Flexibility in work schedules may be needed in order to meet
target dates for completion of projects.
Specific Duties: Using computerized work process flow capabilities, develop
electronic forms, routing and tracking processes. Manage the implementation of
the OVPR migration from hard copy to electronic optical scanning/file storage
and retrieval system. Evaluate research administration vendor and/or sponsor
software products for possible acquisition and/or integration into Office
processes for streamlining work flow and ensuring Stony Brook remains
competitive in a rapidly evolving administrative environment. Participate in
the technical migration of the Research Foundation

to a current relational database architecture, integrating campus and sponsor
business rules and processes into the new system.
