The Office of the Vice Provost for Research at Temple University,
Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Administrative
Assistant/Secretary/Receptionist to work in the Sponsored Projects
Office.  This position assists all sections of the office, especially
Sponsored Projects and Main Campus, IRB in the completion of tasks
necessary to maintain smooth flow of information.  Position will provide
support to Director of SPA and Director of Contract Administration in
maintaining grant and contract files, tracking contracts, contacting
faculty regarding proposal status, instructing students as necessary on
the daily activities of on campus mail delivery, postal duties,
xeroxing, filing etc.   The qualified individual will prepare monthly
proposal reports using a database, assist in dissemination of potential
funding opportunities, maintain a monthly newsletter on the Research
Office website, and be responsible for the Community of Science
Database.  The successful candidate should be able to grasp diverse
responsibilites with a minimal amount of instruction and be able to work
independently.

A bachelor's degree is preferred.  However, a combination of an
associates degree plus 3-5 years work experience would be considered.
Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Extensive computer skills must include word processing, spreadsheet,
Internet experience.   Web development or HTML experience would also be
helpful.  A degree of maturity and level headedness is necessary in
order to handle the diverse needs of faculty and staff.
