Once our students graduate, we can no longer count them as students. If a
faculty member wishes them to continue on a grant funded research project,
we pay them as "contract labor" or "consultants." Therefore, no taxes or
fringe benefits are involved. Will the granting agency allow you to do
this? We have not had a problem with it.
