I too remember seeing the revised (amended) application success rate info a
while back. However, I do NOT think that the current NIH web site (that
was mentioned this morning) offers this info.
Here is some info from a page I dug up:
FY 1995 - all institutes
New R01 success rates (%)
Initial submission 13.9
1st revision 23.5
2nd revision 30.5
(there was also info for 3rd-5th revisions, but this is no longer allowed)
R01 Competing Continuation success rates:
grant 6 years old or less
Initial submission 31.8
1st revision 39.9
2nd revision 43.3
grant 7-11 years old
Initial submission 42.9
1st revision 41.9
2nd revision 46.0
grant 12 or more years old
Initial submission 51.3
1st revision 44.0
2nd revision 39.2
It isn't what you really wanted, but still sort of interesting.
And if anyone does know where more recent info like this exists, I would
also like to know.
