DEPARTMENTAL RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR

This position functions as the Director of Research
Administration/Research Administrator for a large,
multidisciplinary basic research center funded by the
Shriners Intramural Research Program, NIH, and foundation
grants.  The Center's scientific theme is skeletal
development.   This position is responsible for the
Center's fiscal integrity, daily operations, and the
adherence to institutional bylaws, policies, and
procedures.   Other functions include:

a) Provide administrative support for the Director of
Research and investigators in pursuing their research
objectives and goals; provide fiscal data, short and long
term projections, and overall planning, organizing,
directing, and monitoring of Research activities.

b) Ensure granting agency and institutional compliance (pre
and post award), fiscal monitoring, facilities/space and
operations management, human and animal protocol
management, and personnel management.

c) Provide direct supervision and management for the
Administrative Core; prepare and approve budgets and
proposals for large, complex, multi-site, competitive and
non-competitive grants with requested amounts ranging from
$1-10 million.

d) Investigate all phases of program development
methodologies to assist the Director in achieving short and
long-term goals.   Serves as an executive link between the
Director, Hospital Administrator, Board Members, granting
agencies and others.

Demonstrated experience managing a large multi-investigator
research program is required.  Certification in Research
Administration is highly desirable.  The starting salary
range is $40,000 to $55,000 depending on experience.
