GRANTS SPECIALIST in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at
Radford University (position limited to a maximum of 1500 hours per WORK
YEAR or approximately 30 hours a week). This is an expansion of the
office!
DUTIES: Provide management and oversight of campus grant and contract
activities. Administer awards in accordance with federal, state,
university, and sponsor rules and regulations. Assist project directors
and on- campus staff in award administration duties including overseeing
grant and contract expenditures according to approved budgets,
pre-encumbrance monitoring, and budget amendments. Provide pre-award
assistance to include creating budgets, compiling proposals, securing
internal approvals, and providing advice on grant proposals.
Continuation of this position is based on the availability of funds.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to comprehend federal and state grant contract
regulations, budget documents, and generally accepted accounting
principles. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work
independently, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and process large
amounts of information. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse
clientele both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills to
include word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
Experience with automated accounting systems desirable. Hourly Wage
Rate (Grade 9): $11.96. Application Deadline: 8:30 a.m. on March 28,
