Smile Train is a new organization, committed to transforming children's
lives by helping them smile for the very first time. With a surgical
process that takes no more than a few hours, this organization and the
volunteers it recruits will enable children China with cleft lips and
cleft palates to get the help they need to live happy and healthy lives.

Smile Train is currently seeking a Director of Research and Partnerships
to play a key role in the launch of this exciting, meaningful, and high
impact organization.

Location: Roslyn, New York (Long Island)

Compensation:  Excellent salary and benefits package depending on
experience.

Specifically, during the first 12 to 18 months of his/her tenure, the
Director of Research and Partnerships will be expected to:

Develop research programs dealing with clefts; Explore holistic
approaches to treatment and care; Develop cooperative relationships with
academic medical centers and research institutions throughout the world;
and In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Development,
identify major contributors who will want to invest in this research.

Grants Administration: Identify areas of research that are not fully
developed and create a grant program that supports work in those areas;
and Develop and manage a process for soliciting, reviewing awarding and
supervising grants;

Partnerships: Develop partnerships with already existing organizations
in the U.S. who are currently providing services to children with cleft
lips and palates and engage them to begin this work in China.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in the field of sponsored
research/grants administration.
