Thank you: SF 294/295, PHS 398/2590 Kathleen Hinman 09 Feb 1999 08:55 EST

I would like to thank all of you who replied so promptly to my
request regarding SF 294/295. I was able to download a copy almost
immediately that afternoon.

I also wanted to let you know that these forms, along with many
others (including the new PHS 398 and 2590), are now available on our
office's webpage in editable PDF format.

The difference between editable PDFs and regular PDFs is that you can
type on a editable PDF right on the screen with Acrobat's free Reader.
If you want to save what you type and go back to it later, you have
to have the full Acrobat Exchange -- but if you submit to NSF via
FastLane, you need that anyway.

The advantage to putting them in this format as opposed to Word or
Excel is that it is completely cross-platform and can be used by
anyone. The disadvantage is that someone has to code the forms for
typing. That said, if you use one of the forms and find that a field
has been coded incorrectly, please let me know.

I hope that you find these useful.

Thanks again,

KMH
