Temple University has a opening for a Director, Contract Administration and
Compliance. Under the direction of the Vice Provost for Research, the Director
of Contract Administration and Compliance will be responsible for the overall
processing and monitoring of all contracts, subcontracts and sub-awards for the
Main Campus. Will also have responsibility for the oversight and resolution
of budget and compliance issues. In addition, the incumbent will develop and
maintain a tracking system to follow outstanding contracts, subcontracts, and
agreements. Responsible for developing and analyzing the overhead recovery
report for the University.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Facilitate and coordinate contract documents for the Main Campus.
Process all contracts, subcontracts and subawards from inception to final
execution for the Main Campus.
Prepare and/or negotiate subcontracts on all awards from Federal, State, Local,
Corporate, Foundation support sources when required.
Coordinate appropriate monitoring activities on all contract documents with the
Financial Office - Grant and Contract Accounting.
Develop and maintain a tracking system to follow outstanding contracts,
subcontracts, and agreements.
Maintain and update government regulations realted to contractual agreements
e.g. FAR, OMB Circulars, Policy Manuals.
Maintain and update University policies, e.g. financial statements, indirect
cost agreements, conflict of interest, etc.
Work on funding trends and prepare internal reports for the office regarding
post-award activities, overhead distribution.
Assist with Human Subjects Protocol activities for the Main Campus.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 5-7 years applicable experience preferably
in a grants/sponsored projects environment. Computer literate, knowledge of
financial systems helpful. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, Internet,
required. Candidate should possess a working knowledge of federal, state,
local and private funding source policies and procedures. Candidate must be
able to communicate effectively with a wide range of personality types,
situations. Must be flexible with schedule. Must be able to shift work
priorities reasonably well to accommodate the needs of faculty and other
situations that may arise. Must be able to work independently. Typing
skills are required.
