Donna --
Thought it might be helpful for you to have the instructions for Mac archive conversion that we went through the other day. Everything seems to be working fine... many thanks. I know that Dr. Rubin is also very anxious to convert to GW5 as well.

1. Create a new, empty archive.
a. Create new folder called "Archive" on local hard drive.
1) Path = Groupwise/Groupwise */Archive
2) Hard drive is preferable for this first step -- EJF encountered
difficulties trying to archive over the network to P: drive*.
b. Launch GW 5.2.
c. Check Preferences to ensure that archive file location points
to this folder.
1) Edit menu
2) Preferences*
3) Environment
4) File location
5) Archive directory (choose folder as created in 1a above)
d. Archive at least one message from current mailbox -- make it
something that you don't mind losing (send yourself a test
document, then archive it).
1) In the Mac environment, the archive does not contain the
necessary subfolder "ofoifarc" until at least one message
has been archived.
2. Quit GW.
3. Prepare new "Archive" folder.
a. Open "Archive" folder (Groupwise/Groupwise */Archive).
b. Open subfolder "ofoifarc".
c. Trash everything in subfolder.
4. Transfer contents of old GW 4.2 archive.
a. Make duplicate of old folder (just in case -- can trash later).
b. Open old archive folder.
c. Open subfolder "ofoifarc".
d. Drag contents of subfolder from old archive to subfolder "ofoifarc"
of new archive.
5. Re-launch GW 5.2.
a. Open archive from File menu.
b. Will indicate it is updating archive to GW 5. Let it cook -- will
take awhile.
c. When finished, can unarchive anything (will be put in mailbox with
correct date!), or leave in the archive.
*After going through all these steps, EJF found that Archive could then be moved to network p: drive; remember to change file location as described in 1c above.
