The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of
Illinois at
Chicago seeks qualified candidates for Director, Office for Protection from
Research Risks (OPRR).  The OPRR is the primary office on campus that monitors
and regulates compliance with federal, state and university regulations and
policies in the areas of human, animal and recombinant DNA research.

Master=s degree and five years experience are required, Ph.D. preferred.
Incumbent must understand complex federal regulations and have the ability to
secure the cooperation of University faculty and staff.  Must possess
excellent
writing skills, broad research knowledge, and understanding of federal
research
regulations and research ethics in the specialized area of human, animal and
rDNA research.  Preference will be give to candidates with experience in the
monitoring and management of research risks in an academic setting.
