RESPONSIBILITIES: The Ohio State University Research Foundation is seeking
an energetic and multi-talented research administrator to fill this key
management position.  The Director, Office of Sponsored Programs has
responsibility for the following offices in the Research Foundation: Grants
& Contracts (pre and post award); Business & Industry Contracts; Funding &
Research Opportunities; Policies & Procedures; and Institutional Research
Data Analysis. OSU ranks number 17 in the nation according to NSF data for
FY '97.

The Director supervises a staff of over 40 in providing a full range of pre
and post-award services to faculty principal investigators and project
directors. The Director, Office of Sponsored Programs, reports to the Deputy
Executive Director of the Foundation, but also interfaces with high level
University officials on research administration matters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a
related field (advanced degree preferred) and significant management level
experience in the following areas: management of sponsored programs in a
university setting; strong technical expertise in grants and contracts,
interfacing/negotiating with auditors; interaction with funding agencies;
and application of computer technology to the administration of sponsored
programs (PeopleSoft experience is especially desirable). Must have
excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership and managerial
skills and abilities.
