Contract and Grant Administrator I/II

Auburn University

Auburn University solicits applications for the position of Contract and
Grant Administrator in the Office of Contracts and Grants Administration.
Auburn University is a comprehensive Land-Grant university with a total
organized research program of over $83 million in FY 96/97.  The individual
in this position will work under the general direction of the Director or
Assistant Director and will review, process and monitor proposals and
awards for external funding of Auburn University programs.

Duties include:
*  Conducts final negotiations for contracts and subcontracts;
*  Advises and assists faculty in the preparation of applications for
funding and ensures compliance with university and sponsor policies,
procedures and requirements;
*  Advises and assists in the procurement, management, accountability and
reporting of equipment when there exists a direct relationship to a
contract or grant;
*  Prepares and reports on utilization of small and disadvantaged business
in sponsored programs; and
*  Writes, negotiates and monitors subrecipient agreements.

The Contract Administrator I is a salary grade 10 and the minimum
qualifications are:
--  High school diploma and 7 years of experience; or
--  An Associates degree and 5 years of experience; or
--  A Bachelor�s degree.

The Contract Administrator II is a salary grade 12 and the minimum
qualifications are:
--  High school diploma and 9 years of experience; or
--  An Associates Degree and 5 years of experience; or
--  A Bachelor�s degree and 4 years of experience.

The position requires;
*  Strong interpersonal and written communication skills;
*  Excellent time management and organizational skills;
*  The ability to perform high quality work in a dynamic and fast paced
environment; and
*  Computer experience with specific skills in wordprocessing, database and
spreadsheet software;

Desired qualifications include:
*  Contracts and Grants experience;
*  Experience with Macintosh and PC (windows) environments;
*  General knowledge of and ability to consistently and accurately apply
Federal regulations and cost accounting standards to sponsored programs; and
*  General knowledge of state and local laws as they relate to sponsored
programs.
