I'm a recent addition to this list and apologise if this topic has
been running of late (or if it's generally not of interest) ,  but
I've been asked (and not been able to put my fingers on) for
information about  Universities practices with internal charging for
'infrastructure' costings for contract research.

I would be grateful for any information (asap of course) on what your
institution charges internally as a percentage (or however) of funds
brought in for contract research both to the University and
School/department level.

Discussions here have reached a fairly high point in the distribution
of contract reserarch funds for central, school and research groups.
I'd also be interested to know whether anyone 'charges' a percentage
(and attributes it back) for the support put in by offices of
research.
