I need to find out (from a number of schools) whether or not they have
"rolling" appointments for non-tenure earning clinical faculty.  For
example, there is a very valuable clinical faculty member that a department
would like to retain and show support to without awarding tenure.  The
faculty member is given a three year appointment which is renewed yearly
(add another year each year).  How do you manage this without coming in
conflict with any policy you have on awarding tenure after a specific period
of employment?
