DIRECTOR of FOUNDATION RELATIONS
UNIVERSITY of RICHMOND

The University of Richmond, a private, highly-selective university, is
nationally known for its challenging academic programs, superb facilities
and commitment to excellence.  Proud of its heritage, the university, under
the leadership of  its new president, Dr. William E. Cooper, is focused and
confident on sustaining this distinguished history well into the future.

Reporting to the Vice President, Development-University Relations, the
Director of Foundation Relations will manage the University's national
fundraising efforts in this important area.  This will include working with
the president, deans, and other campus administrators to identify
university priorities appropriate for external funding from national and
corporate foundations.    The Director will also assist faculty in seeking
grants.  The importance of this role requires a professional whose
employment history is characterized by success and achievement.  We are
seeking that special individual, eager to make a lasting contribution and
to represent Richmond in a distinctive fashion to the foundation world.

Qualifications include an appropriate educational background and a minimum
of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience preferably
in higher education fundraising.  In addition, inquiries from candidates
representing government and other not-for-profits are welcomed.
Significant emphasis will be placed on both interpersonal as well as
writing skills.
