GRANTS DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Health Research, Inc., a not-for-profit, grant funded, org. is seeking a
Grants Development Specialist to work in the Wadsworth Center. The
Wadsworth Center is the multidisciplinary research & public health
laboratory of the NYS Dept. of Health. The Center seeks a professional to
facilitate submission of individual &
multi-investigator/multi-institutional grant applications in the biomedical
& environmental sciences. Other responsibilities will be to: develop &
maintain relationships w/ key representatives of funding agencies &
collaborating institutions; serve as liaison between Wadsworth Center
investigators & the Technology Transfer group; assist in the administration
of the NYS Spinal Cord Injury Research Program; identify & communicate
funding opportunities to Center investigators; organize & present workshops
on funding opportunities & proposal development; edit proposals; & develop
& maintain databases of award information.
The successful candidate will have a BA/BS & 3 yrs. of professional writing
exp. in a grant seeking environment, highly developed written & oral
communication skills & computer literacy. The candidate will have 2 to 5
yrs. of progressive sponsored programs administration exp.; demonstrated
familiarity w/federal & private funding sources & federal policies &
procedures; demonstrated knowledge & ability in electronic research admin.;
demonstrated ability to coordinate & to work w/interdisciplinary teams &
w/external partners; deadline & detail oriented; strong interpersonal,
grant writing & editing abilities.
Pref. Quals. include doctoral level education & background in biomedical or
environmental sciences, exp. as a project administrator/director, exp. w/
technology transfer, computer literacy including databases & web
development.
