Re: Dissemination of Information

I occasionally send photocopies of individual pages to faculty -- never
making more than a few copies of any one page, never copying a significant
portion of any one publication. Primarily I use the information to
create short email notices which go to various "personal mail groups" to
which faculty "subscribe". I've explored the use of topical listservs,
but there are too many faculty with overlapping interests -- with email they
only get one copy of each message, with listservs they'd get multiple
copies. And I encourage faculty to subscribe to the various public systems
(NSF Custom News, e.g.) and to use the databases to which we subscribe
(currently IRIS and SPIN).
