I wouldn't think so.  Presumably, if half of a person's salary is being paid from a grant/contract account, the sponsor expects the individual to spend half of his or her time on that project . . . not off on sabbatical.  Unless the $ are private $ with no restrictions, we wouldn't allow it (actually, I don't think our policy allows full payment on sabbatical, at all.).
