Pam, there's a worthwhile article on finding funding sources, including through
the net, in the Sept. 18-Oct. 2 edition of HMS Beagle, the BioMedNet magazine:

by Liane Reif-Lehrer.  You'll have to register if you're not already a
subscriber, but that's relatively painless.  It's a lively and interesting
newsletter, anyway.

this post counts as shameless self-promotion--but I don't get much out of it.)
