DESCRIPTION: The Research Process Manager (RPM), reports to the Assoc Director
of Research Administration and is responsible and accountable for the
complete administrative research process for a defined group of faculty.
As an RMG team member, the RPM works in collaboration with faculty,
business managers and other department and University staff in a
customer
service oriented operation. RPMs participate in extensive training and
take certification exams to obtain signature authority on behalf of the
University. This position will be mentored by and experienced RPM. Must
comply with governmental regulations and University policies regarding
health and safety.
QUALIFICATIONS: Significant and demonstrated expertise in pre- and post-award
research administration policies and practices, University and
government
regulations, department accounting practices and strategic financial
planning, University systems including DEMS, CHRIS, SUFIN, and SPIDERS,
Netscape and the world wide web. Advanced computer skills are essential.

DESCRIPTION: Provide full range of administrative support to the RPMs and the
Research Management Group in the SOM. DUTIES: Under general supervision,
assist the RPMs in their pre- and post-award responsibilities including;
review grant proposals and awards for completeness, compliance and
budget
accuracy, often under deadline pressure; gather/analyze financial data;
enter research data into SPIDERS; use spreadsheets to do long/short term
forcasting; design custom reports which present data in clear, easily
understood format. Working closely with RPM to ensure timely submission
of sponsore requirments, facilitate RPM interactions and relations with
department staff, SoM, University, GCA and sponsors by answering or
fielding questions. Adhere to the Team Standards and Core Competencies
(action oriented, communication, customer focus, decision quality,
ethics
and values, functional & technical skills, integrity and trust,

QUALIFICATIONS: Superb organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail,
