Operations/Business Manager (replaces previous search for a Business
Manager)
The University of Connecticut Office of Animal Research Services seeks
an Operations/Business Manager. The successful candidate for this new
position will supervise and train animal care staff, coordinate
facility and equipment maintenance and repairs, implement a
centralized ordering and billing system, and keep centralized
personnel and animal records. Experience is required in animal
husbandry, personnel supervision, facility management, cost
accounting, and business computing skills. Candidates should possess
good communication skills, with the ability to interact with
individuals on various levels, administrators, faculty, and
technicians. AALAS certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist
and a BS degree in a related field of study are required. The
University has approximately 15,000 vertebrate animals, consisting of
over 20 species including farm animals, housed in over 20 facilities
around the Storrs Campus. Hiring range is $37,000 to $48,000.
