Contract & Grant Administrator (Specialist)
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the manager/Team Leader, the successful candidate will have
primary responsibility and involvement in all aspects of Pre-Award
Contract and Grant Administration, including advising faculty in
preparation and processing applications, ensuring compliance with agency
and institution policies; drafting (when necessary) and negotiating terms
and conditions of grant awards, contracts, subcontracts and clinical
testing agreements and material transfer and confidential disclosure
agreements; participating in the development and implementation of
policies and procedures; maintaining up-to-date knowledge and expertise
in federal/state/private agencies' regulations and policies; and staying
abreast of new/changing laws and OMB circulars which affect sponsored
program activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or related field
and three years of related experience, preferably in research and grant
administration or advanced degree in law or business and one year of
related experience. Strong negotiation skills, legal background and
computer experience in a Windows/Mac environment preferred. Position
requires knowledge and experience of pre-award research administration in
an academic setting, preferably health science center. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills essential. Ability to execute
multiple tasks and respond to multiple demands as part of a team; skill
in problem solving and ability to consider multiple alternatives.
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
