I see you finally have permission to hire an individual responsible for
patenting and licensing issues.

If you don't mind I'm putting in my two cents..  I think you would be wise to
hire a person who has a high degree of technical and business education and
has worked in  business and knows product development. Another qualification
that is useful is someone who has a  legal background or experience in
review/negotiate industrial contracts. The person does not necessarily have to
be a patent lawyer but that would be helpful.
