Director, Office of Research Administration
Reporting to the VP for Science and Technology, the Director, Research
Administration is responsible for all aspects of grants administration,
human studies and compliance issues in relation to the stewardship of
federal grant funds. This position is responsible for developing and
recommending policies/ procedures which will enhance and facilitate research
activities. Specific tasks include: review research proposals, work with
PIs and Research Finance to improve components of grant requests, create new
models for developing and managing resources, and management of sponsored
programs staff (best of all - you get to be my boss!).
Requirements: 5-7 years extensive experience in research administration at a
university or medical center where an administrator must work with
autonomous professionals. Detailed knowledge of the laws and regulations
governing research. Must also be a proven leader who can work effectively
across functional lines, and possess strong operational, financial and
contract negotiating skills.
