Open Position - Manager, Research Finance

Primary Functions:

Financial Management - Responsible for central accounting functions:
general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash.
Monitor/review/implement financial policies and procedures.  Interpret and
assure compliance with GAAP and government regulations.  Responsible for
monthly and annual close of financial accounting system.  Assist in
prepartation of budgets.  Prepare and monitor expenditure/budget reports.
Prepare various reports, schedules, analyses, reconciliations.  Oversee
audit functions.

Grants Management - Oversee preaward tasks for grants and contracts.
Prepare/review subcontracts.  Responsible for financial and compliance
aspects of grants and contracts management.  Prepare monthly financial
reports for Principal Investigators.  Prepare federal and other funding
agency reports.  Monitor all projects.

Other - Serves as backup to the Director, Research Finance.  Performs other
duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Experience in grant, contract, and subcontract development and accounting,
data analysis, spreadsheet, word processing and fund accounting skills;
excellent written/oral communication and organizational ability; and
ability to interact with all levels of staff.  Requires BA degree or
equivalent with 5 years experience in accounting and research
administration, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
