Funding Programs Conferences

Two excellent conferences on funding programs are
going to be held this summer. Both conferences are appropriate
for faculty AND research administrators.
The Live Video Satellite Conference will be broadcast on
July 7, 1998 from the NIH Natcher Center. It will feature
11 federal and non-federal funding programs with each session's
information presented by the program officer. The sessions will
include such programs as FIPSE, Fulbright, and NSF DUE. All
colleges and universities should find these programs of interest
to their faculty. As an added bonus, you can videotape the
sessions and use your videotapes during the next year for
workshops or other events.
The two-day Sponsored Programs Conference for Predominantly
Undergraduate Institutions will be held on July 6-7, 1998, also
at the NIH Natcher Center. This conference will feature over
45 different funding programs of special interest to the
undergraduate institution, as well as select research administrative
sessions. A number of institutions are sending groups of faculty
to the two-day conference, in order to take advantage of the
presented information and the opportunity for further networking
with program officers. A special feature of the two-day conference
will be a "chat room" to enable the program officers who are presenting
to meet informally with conference attendees.
Both conferences are being hosted by the National Council of
University Research Administrators and AASCUO's Office of
Federal Programs.
