Re: Administrative Support on Federal Grants

Our university has implemented a Research Incentive Plan (RIP). This plan
provides for distribution of an ammount equal to the recovered F&A, with
30% to the PI, 20% to Department, 10% to Division, and 40% to Research
Office.
This is not only an incentive to the PI to apply more aggressively for
external funds, but works as an incentive to the Chairs and Deans to
encourage their faculty to submit grant applications.
