Copying and mailing as an inducement to timely proposal submission
Charles E. Graham 16 Mar 1998 10:38 EST
Dear Colleagues:
This is in follow-up to the survey I did recently on
required lead time for internal review of proposals.
I am interested in the success proposal
copying and mailing services as an inducement to timely
proposal submission for an internal review deadline.
(The previous respondents who reported providing copying and
mailing to those who submitted proposals by the internal deadline
are listed below; I am e-mailing them directly:
one is unidentified - please respond.)
I am now seeking additional institutions that use this
inducement, because I did not ask about this inducement
before (it showed up in the comments of some respondents).
Please provide the information requested.
IF YOU OFFER COPYING AND MAILING SERVICE TO THOSE WHO MEET YOUR INTERNAL
DEADLINE:
Can you can provide any data, objective or otherwise,
on the efficacy of copying and mailing as an inducement
for timely proposal submission? We are seriously considering
the approach here to address a very high incidence of last-minute
proposals.
1) please provide an estimate of the % of proposals
recieved for review in the Research Office 0, 1, 2, 3,
days etc. before the mailing/postmark date, and the %
received in time for your internal deadline:
2) Deadline (days):
3) Do you provide to timely applicants:
4)
copying:
mailing:
both:
5) # New Proposals per year:
6) Other comments
7) Institution:
8) Respondent:
DATA PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED (all provide copying and/or mailing for timely
proposals) [Please respond to your separate, individualized request for
supplementary data]
